There has been a lot of talk recently on whether or not everyone in the country should get a universal basic income as a way to ensure that everyone will be able to maintain a certain standard of living regardless of their employment status. This should theoretically mean it will keep the economy going as people will spend more as well since you can still work it seems. However, I was reading about how some places in Canada were trialing this for three years as people enrolled into it only for it to be cut short after a year or so.
Not surprisingly, there were people that basically became dependent on it and when it was cut off their world turned upside down. I always think it’s dangerous to rely on ant government handouts as a way to stay afloat. Imagine running a business that was unprofitable where the only reason you are staying alive is because of some government funding due to your business type. Like there, most people wouldn’t feel too much sympathy for the business for not being able to run it on their own.
You need to figure things out if something isn’t going right financially. Otherwise, odds are you will eventually fall into the dame trap regardless of how much money others provide you. Too much dining out? Not open to doing jobs that you simply think are boring? There has to be an underlying reason and if anything, the aid you would benefit the most from is figuring out what you need to learn to be able to fend for yourself. Example, even a basic farm life is probably better to be able to self-sustain I feel versus just relying on these kinds of funds. The money has to come from somewhere too and like here don’t be surprised if it gets cut off.
