There was a lot of news today in regards to an elected leader in the UK named Liz Truss who is resigning from her position just shortly after a month or so. Imagine all that time and money being spent to get the job only then quit so quickly. I am not fully updated with what is happening there, but the first thought I had was does she still get paid per se for quitting so quickly? In most other jobs one would have to forfeit their earnings for not fulfilling a contract as an example.
Based on what I read, apparently former prime ministers can claim almost £115,000 a year in at the taxpayer’s expenses which she is apparently entitled to. What other kind of job or career in the world can you simply quit and still have that kind of financial benefit for the rest of your life? People joke but it’s true where if you are simply working at a job for money, does it not make sense to be a politician with those kinds of financial benefits?
Most people would associate politicians as dishonest for example. But if one is actually getting paid like that it’s probably a good trade off for them huh? If it’s truly just about money then I guess you can’t overlook that as a career of sort. As crazy as that may sound to many.
