Usually when you walk around places that are popular with tourists it’s not unusual to have people ask other to take pictures for them. Recently there was a small family that asked me to take their picture and of course I agreed. When I took their picture I tried to frame it as best as possible to compliment the picture with a background. As well I started to kneel down at times to get the best angle. Because of this one person made a comment how I must be a professional.
I am not of course where if anything I just do things like photography for fun. But it made me think how many times people hesitate to start a business because they compare their work to established people and think there is no way people would ever view their work as a professional. Many times though if one’s skill-set in a specific area is just beyond average you could realistically offer professional service per se that people would be happy to pay for.
I think one great example is people teaching seniors computer skills with something as basic as how to use and access e-mail. Like there the term professional I would say is more about offering good service as opposed to be extremely technical as if you were building a computer server. Don’t underestimate how valuable the simple things to you can be for others.
