Tomorrow is supposed to be Amazon Prime day where people who are subscribed to the service an expect some sales as if it was Black Friday. What got me thinking is it seems like the sale has pretty much become a tradition of sort already as if it was any other holiday or event.
For example, holidays such as Valentines Day where people run out to buy gifts for loved ones. Now it is often said Valentines Day was a retail created holiday to sell stuff. I guess in this case Amazon Prime Day was designed to sell stuff and it makes you think how with a few years of consistency you can pretty much invent your own shopping holiday event huh? I was even getting e-mails from manufacturers who planned sales just for Amazon Prime day.
So maybe that’s one thing a business should strive for when it comes to increasing sales is to actually invent their own mega holidays versus just waiting for the traditional to occur.
