So I read today that Amazon apparently bought a large health care company in the US called One Medical which I would imagine would mean you can expect to see more pharmacy items and services from the company in the future. I already read joked where people are implying that whenever you shop online the site will recommend that you buy say a kidney that is twenty percent off.
It’s kind of interesting to think about too where in these cases a lot of people aren’t excited that a company is expanding into new industries. There is one perspective where they won’t do as good of a job versus if the company didn’t get bought out by a business that has no experience in the area or people are generally worried about a monopoly.
With that said, it’s possible that it’s just due to the size of the company. For example, if it was a small mom and pop store you would usually hear positive reactions such as people are happy they are now say a large company. Would you actually change your habits in general because a company you did business with just got bought out like here? Most consumers probably won’t care as a long as they aren’t affected.
To think Amazon started selling books and is now going to play a part in the health care system in the US. It goes to show you can always expand eventually as it’s more about starting in the beginning.
