This was fascinating as there is an ongoing investigation into the app that was developed here called ArriveCan where as each day progresses there seem to be signs of a massive money fraud issue. In some example, apparently two people were given about $11 million to work on the app except their “company didn’t actually do any of the work which is the claim. What apparently happened is when they got the money they then got someone else to work on the app so that means they got paid millions by being a lead generator of sort. That is crazy that people like that could win a government contract if true which further raises suspicion of corruption.
I know a lot of companies often bid on projects knowing full well they don’t have the skills or capabilities to do so as the mentality is to get the funds first and figure things out after. It actually works for a lot of people. I remember one example of a company that specialized in video production and their client asked if they could do pay per click marketing as they offered $5000 to do so. With that amount they simply said they could do it where they partially used the money to get an employee to learn how to do it.
Sounds crazy but it happens. It’s just less believable that it could happen with these government funded projects where there should be more scrutiny on the companies who are biding for those contracts. But many times it’s who you know like they say.
