There was a bunch of ads I saw online today which appeared to be asking people to signup for a site and having natural conversations in one’s native tongue and you would get paid for it. Sounds too good to be true right? While the legitimacy is a separate topic, the thing I was focused on is how this seemed to be for some kind of AI where my assumption is all the recorded audio will be used to train various AI models. Therefore, you are kind of signing away your potential voice and likeness as well for these kinds of things.
That seems to be the new thing now when you are looking to work on some kind of project as you have to double check on whether or not the company intends to use your work indefinitely to train future AI models where they can then replicate your work without further compensation. It reminds me of the creative industry such as people getting a few hundred dollars to be used in stock photography and now they can resell your likeness to anyone to use for one small fee. This is bad if you became famous as an example.
AI stipulations are usually the dead giveaway nowadays and you should read all the fine prints.
