As many are probably experiencing in their local area people are asked to stay at home if possible unless you happen to work in a field that is considered an essential service. For example, medical workers or grocery store employees at the moment. Here though a ton of industries are considered essential to the point where it seems like everyone is being placed in this category. But what was interesting today was how I read that the wrestling company WWE was officially considered an essential service by the state of Florida. Therefore, they can operate minus things like an audience.
That got a lot of reaction from people of course questioning how that can be considered an essential service. Especially other people in the entertainment field wondering why they wouldn’t be classified as the same automatically. I know for here even something such as media and journalism is considered an essential service. You can imagine how broad that can be.
I did wonder in this case with the WWE if it has to do with one of those knowing the right people scenarios. In that case if you want to do the same I guess it’s about actively convincing the person in charge to exempt you as oppose to waiting around. Then again, so many of the descriptions are so broad in a place like here that you can pretty much adjust your service offerings to meet those requirements as well if you are that keen.
I would imagine that would be due to a company having contractual obligations such as the WWE having an agreement with networks to broadcast live events of sort.
