For a ton of traditional retail business that don’t have an online presence it seems like you pretty much need one nowadays with most people staying home and opting for online shopping to meet their needs. Even restaurants that don’t normally need such a solution have partnered up with delivery apps to try and adapt to the situation as an example.
It did make me think how if you do have a store even having something as simple as an in-store pickup option can probably generate a lot of extra business for you. Recently I needed to buy this small replacement part that costs about $15. The shipping was actually about $10 unless I bought something over $50. Clearly no worth it. But they did have a free in-store shipping option which made it free to pick up and was a definite advantage versus others who just had an online presence while charging high shipping rates.
There are actually stores with online options that don’t have a store pick up option at all which always surprises me. What would you be waiting for to not have this option assuming you already take orders online?
