Wasting Money If You Never Apply Your Knowledge After Learning It

Learning languages is often something that I can never really find a good school for in the sense of something that will stick. Especially when you go to learn them part time in say a continuing studies course. As well, price is a factor where to me paying $100 an hr to try and learn a new language seems a bit outrageous. But what I was thinking was how for myself despite learning stuff in a formal classroom if you never actually go out in your daily life and use the language then you won’t really retain it too well.

That got me to think about virtually everything that people learn skill wise. We often don’t mind throwing out a ton of money initially to learn the skill but then we never actually spend time to apply in our regular daily life to make sure that we actually keep it forever. Having a plan on how you are going to do that after is just as important as learning it in the first place I feel. Otherwise it’s going to be like all those high school courses we did and now forgot because our professional life has no practical use for it.

It sounds so straight forward but most of us never do that right? This can apply to other things as well such as people going on a very expensive diet. Example, you need to have a plan to live a consistent healthy lifestyle afterwards too where you are applying what you learned every day.
