This was interesting to think about as using AI can be a time saver but there are often talks on how if everyone used it that would require some massive power to run everything and we already have issues in various places to even power a city with a lot of electric cars. But one thing that was interesting is how many people waste a lot of power in using AI programs simply because they speak to it like a person versus a robot.
For example, when you talk to a human it’s natural to try and be polite and thank the person you are speaking to when you are requesting for something to be done. For example, asking a person to please research a topic for you with a thanks in advance. A robot doesn’t need this as you should literally tell it to just go do the task. So imagine the billions of people who type all those extra thoughts into their instructions that are simply wasting time and energy. It’s a lot when you add it up.
It’s hard to unlearn that for a lot of people too as we tend to not want to sound like a blunt robot. But in this case it an probably saving a lot of money as we need to remember this is a robot essentially that is literally just meant to follow orders.
