Usually when walking through one of the parks it actually has a lot of exercise equipment as you walk through the trails. You essentially have a free outdoor gym to use and can go anytime you want. This got me thinking as I know a person who wanted to go to the gym but didn’t want to pay a monthly fee for it. When they were told about the free options like this the reason was pretty much that they didn’t want to use free stuff that so many other people will have to fight for.
That really wasn’t the case as almost every time I go there the place is virtually empty in terms of people specifically wanting to use the equipment. It did remind me how this is similar to a lot of other free things such as how for certain events as long as you are willing to share the space like a gymnasium with others you can essential get free rent for your small event. Even if it would suit your needs perfect many people just don’t like the idea of having to share space and items with others.
This has nothing to do with say hygiene as it seems to be more about the psychology of having something that not everyone else could necessarily have. In my opinion, having a mindset like that is a little silly. Especially if it means you can save a ton of money while still getting what you need in a reasonable way. It seems like as adults many times when it comes to saving money and resources we just forget about the things we learned as a child such as sharing huh?
