The other day I was able to get a lot of my work done really early where if I really wanted to I could have relaxed and just watch some TV as an example. But looking at the schedule for my next day I was thinking time might be tight work wise. So instead of just relaxing I actually continued to finish stuff for the next day.
I am glad I did as it took the pressure off from having to meet a deadline. The tradeoff is that while I didnt get a dedicated slack off time block per se it made both of my days very relaxing.
It’s funny as I remember a comment from a person where he thought I was nuts to in a sense always be working where free time should mean no work related stuff. For me I kind of see time as like money in many ways. Like saying if all of a sudden you were gifted $1000 that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t work your job for a week now. Instead you would probably still keep earning money but use that bonus as a way to increase your financial stability.
I sort of see free time in the same way where I like to use it as a way to create more free time overall. It’s like an investment to create an overall balanced work and play life until you truly don’t have to worry about things like money.
