TV Shows As A Frugal Form of Education For Business

Usually when we think of shows on TV we think of programs purely for entertainment purposes as they are often over exaggerated to generate viewership. But there are more reality types of shows these days and competition-oriented ones which actually can help people to become more business minded, I saw a great example the other day of a young entrepreneur who failed to listen to the advice he was given and as a result he lost a lot of opportunities. He then watched a bunch of shows that actually had young people in tough business competitions where many of them were cocky and over confident only to be brought back down to earth as their attitude resulted in defeat.

Just watching that made him realize he was doing that in many ways and it was a great visual to learn from on what he shouldn’t do. It’s one thing when people tell you about something. It’s another to see it happening or experiencing it yourself. So while watching these shows aren’t the same necessarily as say going to a school, in many ways it can be a frugal way to get a look into how certain industries are and how you should conduct yourself.

Hey, even as a kid I learned a lot from Sesame Street which gave me a good head start education wise. It can be cheaper than hiring a guest speaker that demands $1000 for the day as an example too.
