Today I had a cheque that I planned to deposit where I had it in my backpack and intended to drop by the bank on my way back after I finished some work. However, I got distracted as I got a message about an event and I ended up just going to straight home. I was thinking as I only used this once with one bank before where I was able to take a picture of the cheque with my smartphone and as a result the money automatically deposited without me having to go to the bank.
Would you actually get used to depositing cheques this way? I know for myself my initial concern was security as sending any kind of money through my mobile phone still makes me a little concerned. Maybe it’s from watching too many movies and all of people intercepting signals. Though the security in many ways is no different than using online banking.
Although, it’s a nice to have option as I know many people who actually do say drive to the banks just to deposit cheques. Could save some commuting expense this way as long as you are willing to try the different ways of banking nowadays.
