With the current times being extremely bad for most business and how many are forced to stay at home you pretty much can’t do anything for the most part. It has even crippled lot of people who anticipated in launching a business only to realize they have to put everything on hold. So starting a business during these time would seem like a crazy idea right? That kind of fascinated me though as I have heard so many stories if businesses that became big because they started at what should have been the worst time possible.
I remember one story I was told about the former electronics chain called Futureshop here in Canada. It has since been merged and absorbed by BestBuy Canada. But I was told in the beginning the founder actually stated the business during a time when businesses were actually closing down. I suppose due to bad market conditions. So common sense if everyone is closing down then that should be a hint that you will fail as well right?
As it turned out of course they went ahead anyways and created the business. The rest is history. I was thinking maybe one of the reason they were successful is because they were one of the few that still existed for those who did want to buy something. Once everything got back to normal they were in a great position to continue the growth. Sometimes it can be good to go against market trends and beliefs I guess you can say.
