So while reading a bit more about this welfare challenge one thing that surprised me was some of the items people used to demonstrate how little you can get if you had very limited funds and was to try and eat for a week. Some sources were saying things like how almond milk would set you back to almost $5 which made me wonder how one could consider items like that if they were really tight on money. To me, that would be more of a luxury purchase.
It may not be pretty, but when it comes to liquids I would think you would have to settle for water and whatever juice you get from sources like fresh fruits. I would even consider things like smoothies or store bought juices as a bit on the luxury side as well. I guess from time to time you have to remind yourself on how lucky you are to get the things you do in order to be able to save money. Otherwise you will keep thinking that you always need expensive stuff.
