Spending Money And Resources On Your Talent To Grow TikTok Example Thought

Sunny drone shot

With all that news recently in the US on how apps originating from China such as TikTok and Wechat are being banned it did make me try and evaluate why an app like TikTok grew so big so fast as you could argue there are a lot of other services that are like it. One thing that constantly came up during these times was how TikTok apparently was going to spend millions trying to attract and maintain talent in an effort to grow even more.

That makes you think as many times for a large business that actually has the means to do so many would opt to try and simply invest in other items as oppose to their talent. It’s like the mentality that their talent is simply a piece of gear that will keep rotating and providing results as long as you maintain it. That is versus investing anymore more into it to make it even better.

While I don’t know if this is 100% true, I was reading stories how a lot of people who upload content on TikTok for some reason experience explosive growth pretty fast compared to other platforms. That would explain why so many stuck around to make more as they are actually seeing more results for the same effort elsewhere. Now apparently there was some controversy that claimed a lot of the views are actually fake where it’s the company’s way to get people to stick with them.

It’s not proven of course as from what I gather the only real evidence per se for that are people saying those views for many simply do not convert to say sales of products. But it does make you think how if that’s true then a company trying to invest into making sure each person is getting time in the spotlight was definitely a way to grow. That actually reminds me how Google grew way back as a search engine as from what I remembered many website owners were so excited to see their site actually coming up in the search results.

This is versus places like Yahoo that were going more in the direction of a paid search directory. Webmasters then began to use and optimize their sites for google specifically and the rest is history. Even Yahoo used them eventually. So the next time you have a ton of excess cash to invest in something don’t forget about growing the people that make it happen.
