It was kind of amazing to see today where there was a company that made a ton of last minute adjustments where as a result people needed to find completely different resources such as clothing items to adapt to these changes. Not only do people need to shop for new stuff they have to stay within a certain budget as well. Despite this they actually had people who were super knowledgeable about specific things and off they went.
A little over thirty minutes later they came back with everything that is needed where at the same time it looked as if they have ben sales shopping for the best prices as well. It made me think how something as simple as shopping can be a commodity in terms of a workplace skill that people would really need. We often just think of it as basic skill that everyone can do but having specialized knowledge on specific categories of items is almost as good as being able to say speak another language.
Basically it’s an additional skill-set that you may want to consider to add value for others. That’s usually what a business service is where you are filling in a need for others. Like in this case even shopping for the best deals can be a valuable skill that others would hire you for.
