I had an interesting thought today as I saw this one particular item that was on sale everywhere. While the price was definitely a lot better than the original price, the funny thing was this ironically made me not want to purchase it. Seeing every store offer it at a sale price just made me think that something is wrong such as a newer product is coming out or that they are trying to desperately get rid of the inventory.
So with that in mind, it’s a debate if it is better to wait to see what is coming out or to make them even more eager to get rid of it at a lower price if you just hold out more. At times like that the only real time I would be inclined to buy is if I see the product at say 20% cheaper than the rest even at that sale price. Cause most companies in the same industry usually have similar wholesale rates and so if I see it that much cheaper then it must truly be a loss leader type of item.
