On June 3rd here in Canada there is supposed to be a rule that must be implemented where cell phone carriers must give customers the ability to cancel their phone contracts within 24 months. This essentially gets rid of those three year contract terms that a lot of people sign up under. Because of this there seems to be a lot of carriers trying to win over customers with incentives for customers to switch over by bring their own phones.
I was even seeing how large companies like Rogers was offering free data to some existing customers as a way to keep people from switching. Either way, this is probably a really good time to try and get a better cell phone plan here in Canada if you are spending way too much as it is. Always nice to have companies compete for your dollar where they are force to be competitive with its service and pricing.
