Risking Handling More Than You Normally Would

Recently I booked for an appointment at a business where it explicitly said you would be booked for a 40-minute slot as I suppose tat should be ample time for the company to make sure you are being served with care and attention. Funny enough, what I did notice tough is that their booking system has other options too which takes 30 minutes and so booking this slot actually takes up two slots. Therefore, by the looks of it the company just manually changed it as I got a notice that the sloe will be 30 minutes. That is questionable as I was paying more for the higher service. It ultimately doesn’t matter if the job is done, but this means they guy has to rush it if they book another slot in-front of me.

I actually had an experience wit a dentist before where they wanted to book me in but the receptionist was checking the schedules and was saying how there were no slots available. The dentist asked them to check again as she thought it was a quick job that doesn’t require much time. Afterwards, the dentist just instructed her to book me in anyways at a date. I went as expected and sure enough it was a pretty fast job.

So, I suppose that is an example on how you can try to squeeze more people in for more business. But that is risky. Especially if you end up messing up the bad reviews can harm any extra money you made from the person you squeezed in. It makes me wonder if they will charge a lower rate too as technically that is what they advertised for less time.
