I was reading an article recently that talked about how people were branding literal guns as a way to shoot down drones in the fields of war as they were unoriginally called a drone gun. By the looks of it, the guns are virtually the same that people would use for other applications such as hunting. However, I suppose this makes it more attractive foe people who are looking for a very specific issue.
This happens a lot where one example I often use are memory cards such as micro sd cards. They can be used on any device that supports the format such as digital cameras. However, for some manufacturers they take the exact same micro sd card and brand it specifically for a particular purpose such as using it to store video games on your gaming console. Again, like there it is just a micro sd card and you could use it on any of the devices.
But it’s a great example how branding and marketing your items these ways probably generates so much extra sales such as unsavvy tech parents who just know that they need to buy a memory card for their kid’s device. So seeing all that means they will just grab it off the shelf to buy regardless if the card next to it is a better deal and is virtually the same product.
