Purolator Tracking Is Odd

purolator canada tracking

With the busy shopping season here this means delivery companies must be getting a big boost in business. For us as consumers that means trying to order things on dates where we will all hopefully get our shipments before like Christmas day and all. Awhile back I per-ordered an item from Amazon where it was recently shipped. By the looks of it they decided to use Purolator and so at times I decided to see what the shipping status was.

At first I was wondering where the shipment was going as in the past it seemed like I would get the shipment directly to me from Amazon’s warehouse. But I guess here Purolator decided to send it to various sorting facilities. As you can see in the end based on their tracking they didn’t even try to ship the product. Instead it says that the item is available for pickup at their sorting facility.

This is actually not the first time I had a shipping mishap with the company and it kind of made me wonder if they outsource local deliveries to like a third party kind of like say someone who is an average Joe Uber driver sort of deal. It kind of increases the odds that one could feel lazy and just say they tried to deliver it without actually going in many ways. There wasn’t even a slip at the door about a delivery attempt either. I guess I will need to go pick it up sometime this week.

It makes me wonder if I would ask for a refund I was like a home based business operator that relied on shipping a lot of parcels. Must be extra frustrating if you were like a work at home mom or dad running a small business while getting constant inquiries from your customer on where your shipment is.

  • Hi Alan,

Thanks for taking the time to provide feedback on your experience. I’m sorry for any inconvenient this may have caused.

Would it be possible to email your tracking number to customer.care@purolator.com? A delivery attempt is generally expected to be done before a package is made available for pickup, unless the shipper selected the Hold for Pickup option.

    Thank you,

  • Hi Jeremie,

Sure, I’ll e-mail a tracking number. As an extra note I inquired further into this today and the only real response I got was a shrug on how maybe the person was “too busy” as the delivery is outsourced or something along those lines.

    Thanks for responding too.
