Today I had some fun and debated with an AI about various topics as a robot should based everything on facts versus many times when you are debating against humans, emotional biases kick in where people are more focused in validating their belief. It was as expected where the conversation flowed smoothly due to the lack of emotion involved which created useful insights. This got me thinking how even for a business, can you imagine how much more productive things can be if people focused on the actual issues without the need to throw in say some political ideology in the mix?
It makes me wonder if actually watching these types of debate can be say company training as well to encourage people to fully listen to the issues and addressing it logically. And no, I don’t think just replacing people with robots are the answer as they don’t have the human ability to understand emotions in general which you do need when making decisions. I know that sounds ironic for this topic.
It would probably cut meeting times by a significant margin too. Perhaps the middle ground would be to just have say an AI as just the extra non emotional voice to maintain progress in whatever topic it is you are debating about. Especially when it comes to important decisions.
