This was kind of funny today as I went to a store with some people who were ready to make some big purchases. The funny thing was it wasn’t so much what they needed in terms of determining what to buy but rather they brought in X amount of money for various things and so their method was to just ask what they could buy for exactly that much. In many cases they ended up buying things like a $2000 computer that is meant for just basic word processing.
As ridiculous as that sounds, I must say many people do that when it comes to money and shopping. That just makes you a sales person’s best customer in my opinion. I find people commonly do this when they are dining out and it definitely adds up. I’m inclined to say that using money for things like a personal shopper would probably save you a lot if it’s about time and not wanting to do research. At least that way too you will be semi informed about what you are purchasing ahead of time as well where maybe what you think you need may not be necessary at all.
