Well, this was a lesson in being prepared each day as you never know when opportunities may come up. I thought I would go out and take some videos of the cherry blossoms today as it’s about that time of the year. My camera wasn’t fully charged from my previous day of filming but I figured I can still get by as there must have been at least thirty minutes of battery left still. More than enough from my experience as usually I may capture about ten minutes worth. After I finished, I started to head back to the city. This is where I got surprised.
I was wondering why there were so many people at a corner and it turned out it was a huge soccer fan mob that was walking to the stadium. So, I started to capture it. Of course, because my camera wasn’t fully charged the battery actually died which meant I couldn’t use the higher quality camera. I did have my GoPro though to capture the rest.
But it was a great example on how everyday you need to be prepared as you just never know when something may come up. Just charging the camera full earlier wouldn’t have taken extra time either but I got too comfortable with the day routine and not anticipating random stuff like this.
