This is one of those small world moments today as I was contacted by a higher up in a company as they expressed interest in me potentially helping them in their business as apparently they were a fan of my work. That’s always a good ice breaker of sort to ensure the email doesn’t go directly to the trash as spam. But what caught my attention was the person’s name and the company he referenced that he used to work for. After thinking about it, this was actually a regular employee at a business I bought from in the past. The guy literally after all these years worked his way up and then got another job at an even bigger company. As it turns out, it’s the other way around where he needs my help.
What a small world this is I was thinking as you just never know how the people you meet today will become in the future. It’s like those cautionary tales of people who picked on the nerd in high school only to then find out that same guy is the CEO of the company they are working for. Reminder to always be professional to everyone you meet as in this case it worked both ways.
This can be true from just attending functions at times too as you could accidentally bump into say your future business partners as an example.
