I was reading today how there were two business competitors going at it where it got very personal to the point that even the people around them were telling them to settle down. To make the situation more awkward is Christmas Eve too where many people would rather be in a festive and positive mindset. For that alone, people were suggesting that these too should drop it all for the holidays. Would you ever do that for the holidays?
That’s not to say you need to say close your business. But instead, trying to tone it down I terms of the level of hate you are projecting for your competitor. I know for myself I usually consciously try to avoid any extreme negativity during the holidays in the same way how when many people go to work you leave the personal stuff at home. Even from a business point of view I think you should as it’s a reflection of whether or not you share the same values as the people you serve in the community.
It’s not like this is a situation where it’s a murder trial and you want justice ASAP. It’s not the most constructive way to try and one up the other too. Like most things, there is a time and a place for them and during the holidays it may be a bad time to do so.
