With the holiday seasons coming up I find myself getting in touch with people who I haven’t necessarily spoken to a lot in the year as it is a way to catch up. Foer a lot of the people I know well this can be just a simple walk as it’s mainly about spending time. But what I often find is people who I may not know as well at times feel like they must spend something to make the experience worth it. For example, feeling like you have to spend a ton of money at a restaurant just to get together.
Funny enough, for myself when I look back most of my high expenses are meet and greets or get togethers. These aren’t events or parties either as it is simply people wanting to catch up in life. You would think things like your utilities such as your cell phone or Internet access would be the biggest money drains. But for me personally it’s the expenses associated in social gatherings many times. For myself too I would be inclined to say if people ca actually enjoy each other’s company genuinely without the need to spend a ton of money then that is more likely to be a stronger relationship.
Not to say you shouldn’t have fun or splurge a bit once and awhile with your buddies and all. But spending money to hang around should be more of an option as opposed to a need I say.
