This was another classic example on how you just have to visit each store to see what the best deals are as even stores owned by the same company can have different deals. I was actually looking for some honey and usually for 1kg you can expect to pay over $11 or so depending on the brand for a non sale price. So when I walked by a supermarket and saw that they were selling 1kg of honey for $9.50 that immediately got me to think if I should buy it as it is on sale. But it got better as there was a sign indicating you would get 1000 points for buying the honey which is actually another $1. That means you would pay $8.50 for this. Sold.
Just for curiosity I dropped by another location of the exact same store and sure enough the price was listed at $11. The other store indicated it was a flyer deal too where you would expect it to be the same everywhere. But similar to store manager deals it can vary. Imagine how many times this happens with every other item you buy and I know from experience this is usually the case.
This is one of those things where if you can make it a habit to pass by various stores on your way to and back from your daily commute you can save a lot of money if you can make it work without having to go out of your way. I happen to walk a lot so it isn’t a big deal. The savings are tremendous.
