It’s been quite awhile now that the Canadian dollar has been higher than the US dollar. I was expecting some kind of noticeable change such as maybe items from various stores becoming cheaper here. However, for the most part everything seems to be the same. The only real difference I noticed personally is that paying vendors and service providers that are based in the US has of course become less expensive due to the dollar.
If anything, some things have become more expensive due to supply and demand issues. Makes me wonder if I am blindly missing some kind of an opportunity that this situation should have generated. I know people who are into Forex probably made some big money assuming they guessed the market shift correctly.
Other than that the only thing that comes to mind is that maybe a big investment or purchase that you were thinking of before that was US based may seem more appealing now.
