This was an interesting thought about running a business. Imagine you are in an industry where there are a lot of things that are ethically wrong. For example, maybe people are discriminated against or specific organizations hold all the power where if you don’t play by their rules you will be left in the dust. So in order to change things for the better it takes people who are willing to stand up to everything while proactively trying to offer solutions to do so. In the process this usually means spending a ton of time and resources for very little progress. If you are trying to change an industry it’s a long ride.
So that’s when I was hearing the perspective of a business that mentioned while they do recognize that things need to be changed and supports everyone who is doing something they will simply stay behind the scenes and be a silent supporter. The reason being is simple as it’s just business where they have to do what they have to do at the moment to make money. If that means staying behind the battlefield per se and continuing to sell things while others do the dirty work then so be it.
It does make me wonder how many people would agree with that thought where they would honestly go with that route too? In a fairy tale we would all go for the noble route. However, realistically I would imagine most people would go with the easiest route to make a dollar.
