All over the news you can read about how China has suddenly passed a security law that essentially stops people from expressing the idea of a city that endorses democracy per se. This goes against the international agreement that China has made in many ways with regards to receiving Hong Kong back from Britain. But one thing that got me really interested in this to see how it plays out is whether or not countries and businesses will commence a mass exodus of sort when it comes to all things made and services from China.
Because from what I gather it seems many are seeing this action as clear dictatorship and dishonesty to the point where they simply can’t be trusted. Many countries have began the processes to essentially distance themselves from China. With that thought, here there was recently debate on whether or not Canadians should use 5G technology from Huawei. I would imagine this situation would steer them in the direction of saying no.
Because at the end of the day all this can cause so much economic impact that they will have to reconsider. It will be interesting to see how this plays out and if businesses can essentially change a county’s direction when it comes to governing its people.
