What a fascinating story this was where a person was explaining how he knew an individual that had to adapt and market his business online. Apparently his trade skill normally relies on advertisements from places such as phone books but who really looks at that nowadays right? So he paid a professional to setup a website where the issue was he was getting no traffic and leads. As a result he then hired a company to help generate leads through his website.
For the most part he was getting visitors and all. However, it appeared they weren’t leads that turned into paying customers. Basically this was like an expensive business card. He then thought he would try making videos as many companies are doing that to help promote their business. This time he had a different strategy. He apparently just gave his tech savvy son all this camera and computer gear to help him create video content. With that they literally just started to create stuff with no real professional plan.
As they did that they started to generate attention and even business. With that success they just kept going and now they actually have one of the most recognized videos within their industry. Not bad huh? But the funny thing I thought is how he had the perfect employee per se right in-front of him where all it took was just a person that knew how to publish stuff online.
I know people often say you should never work with friends and family due to the potential conflicts that can occur. But it’s very true how many times you probably already know the people who can help you in your business if you ask. Many times the enthusiasts can be just as good as the professionals too.
