I was reading some news about “Octomom” today and at first it kind of surprised me that the person was still in the news. Even more surprising, apparently she resorted to things like softcore porn in an effort to feed her family. It was weird in many ways as I remember way back it seemed like she detested the media for labelling her as the “octomom” yet now it seems like she is cashing in on it as it is like a recognizable brand of sort.
It is kind of interesting at how much one can profit from simply going with the flow at how people want to label others. I guess the bottom line in cases like these is that if people are still giving them attention then it’s like a window of opportunity to profit from it. I suppose in these cases it really comes down to if you are trying to change people’s perspective as a means to influencing a cultural change or if you simply want to make money out off of it.
