Getting Consultation When You Just Need To Believe In Yourself

It can be great to invest for some consultation in an area that you are not too sure about. A little advice from an expert can save you thousands from making costly errors as an example. But what I often find is that people pay others for expensive consultation sessions not so much to learn valuable knowledge but more like a way to hang out with a buddy to get some encouragement. That’s a very expensive friend to have around I guess you could say.

For this one particular scenario I heard recently had to do with a person wanting to each a wider audience with her work. She actually had everything done where it was just a matter of publishing it. However, she booked a pretty expensive consultation with a person that works in her industry. So apparently during the consultation she didn’t really ask anything about the work that she didn’t publish yet. Instead her questions focused more on what the person thought of other people’s work. Can you imagine that? Paying for consultation to get feedback about someone else’s work?

It almost felt like the session was more for a social hangout of sort. I find this to be very common oddly enough. Sometimes when people feel their work isn’t good enough per se it’s almost like one goes into the mode of wanting to see if others are in a similar position as they are. Really all she needed to do was just publish her work and just keep going forward as they say. You really do just need to believe in yourself many times which can end up saving you a ton of money in the process.
