Finding Out The Circumstance of A Sale To Truly Save Money

american apparel savings closing out sale

So I decided to shop at an American Apparel clothing store today that appeared to be closing down. As a result, everything was 80% to 90% off the regular retail price. As you can see from the receipt, my total cost was eighteen dollars and seventy one cents. It also indicated the amount of money I saved too where in this case it was one hundred and four dollars and thirty cents. You just have to sit back and think about that.

In one end I am delighted as a consumer to have saved over one hundred dollars from my purchase. On the other end it makes me think how ludicrous it is now if I was to pay the regular retail price on these clothing items. It goes back to the topic on how simply finding the cheapest prices can give you a whole new perspective when it comes to shopping and saving money.

Granted in this case too it is a closing out sale where they are probably losing money for the sale of each item. In many ways too it should make you think in terms of perspective on what a good sale is based on the circumstance as opposed to the event. All stores usually have “sales” every week where for the most part you are saving money based on what a business would normally sell it for. I would be inclined to say in like these cases they would have still made a healthy profit.

However, if the circumstance of the sale is that the company is going out of business then it is usually in its best interest to try and get rid of everything quickly and cheaply so that they don’t have to worry about moving around inventory which could cost them more money. This should help you from being easily lured by sale signs where it’s not uncommon for retailers to make the deals sound better than they really are. If the circumstance of the sale is say the item is being discontinued or they are going out of business then we are usually talking about true savings.
