While lining up at the supermarket today there was one person making a purchase that caught my attention. Essentially, she bought $500 worth of $25 gift cards. There was indeed a lot of scanning going on because of that. When asked why she needed so many she mentioned that it was better than having to carry around cash.
I was thinking how if that was the case then a credit card would probably work way better. Even I am surprised at how many people purchase gift cards for themselves to use. No point in tying your money down like that where you have to spend it in one particular place. Unless you are actually giving it as a gift to someone then that is a different story.
