Ending A Business Relationship Quickly

Whenever you start a business relationship with someone you are going in with the expectation that this will be for the long-term of course. Who wants to invest all that time in money to set things up only to have it end within a month correct? With that said though, often times people do see warning signs from day one that the partnership may not fit but they decide to keep going to give it a chance. In a lot of cases, it just ends up delaying the inevitable while costing one even more money than if they cut the relationship off earlier.

That’s what I found interesting today as I heard a discussion of a person literally ending a business partnership in about one week because he didn’t feel the person was pulling their weight. There was pushback of course but he insisted in trying every way possible to end it. That may not have been a bad idea as apparently the other party as trying everything to keep things intact which isa little odd considering it was so early that there isn’t exactly anything to fight over money wise in splitting. As well, why would you want to stay partnered with someone that doesn’t want it?

When money is on the line in these ways it can be the wisest thing to do at times. I think the fastest I have ended a business partnership was about one month. It was due to the fact that the person I worked with couldn’t even simply pay the $15 bank fee on time and when asked he just tried to laugh it off saying it’s no big deal as the interest is so small anyways. That was enough for me to know this guy would probably do the same even if the amount is bigger. I didn’t want to stick around to find out.
