Usually when people want deals at specific businesses one would think if they know anyone that works there as employees, usually they get discounts that they can easily share with friends and family members. But it got me thinking how for businesses in general this is often a way for people to try and get others to help them in some way either with extreme discounts or to agree to work on a project.
I was looking at a project that was seeking for help where overall it didn’t interest me too much. As usual though, I often like to do a little research on the companies such as their past work to get an idea if what they are all about. That’s where the surprise came in as for some of the older work listed, I actually recognized some of the people. Just with that alone it made me more open minded to really see If I should pass or not.
The natural assumption is if you know people personally that were associated with them then maybe there is something good about the company in general as well. You bet this made it easier for them to pitch me on it too even with the factor that it isn’t the most profitable proposition. It shows the benefit of just trying to expand your network as much as possible.
