As a child you usually dread about getting boring presents such as a pair of socks as every kid would usually rather have games or toys as a present. But recently I was reading about this brand of socks called Darn Tough which is supposed to be very comfortable and lasts which got me interested as my mom complained about the pain when walking with bad shoes and socks. They are definitely premium priced too as they were almost $30 US for one pair. Imagine spending that much money on a pair of socks where you could buy a pack of them for like $5 in many places. Not the same quality of course.
But, I decided to buy it for my mom as a gift. Even she was puzzled at first with why these were so special and like usual you don’t mention the prices of the gifts. After she tried them for a day she was expressing how great it was as it provided her with the type of cushion protection she needed when walking a lot for the day that she didn’t get from other regular store socks. Because of that I was planning to buy more once there is a decent sale as boxing day is coming up.
This is one of the cases where even a frugal person like myself recognizes that sometimes its better to pay premium prices for premium quality products if they genuinely make your everyday life better or more efficient. Can’t put a price on that if it actually improves your health versus making you worst with a cheaper product as an example. Of course, you need to do your research as many times premium products are more about marketing. But don’t be afraid to invest for your health.
