Constantly Restarting As Opposed To Releasing

I was reading a fascinating article today about a company who was in the software business as they have had a lot of success and yet they ultimately became nothing. As I was reading the history of the business it seemed like the downfall was constantly starting projects only to then scrap them as they thought there was something bigger and better that they could utilize to make its product better. It was kind of dumbfounding in some ways too such as they had relationships with some of the biggest companies out there but it just seemed like their ego as a result of a few successes got in the way of remembering that sometimes you just have to sacrifice your wants to have everything in order to meet the needs of the business.

I suppose if you are entirely self funding yourself and have all the time in the world then technically you can do whatever you want. At times like this it’s always nice to have other people involved in the business with you too that have an authoritative say as sometimes we all need that different voice of reason to make the best decision possible. Of course you don’t want to release junk, but that is different from expecting to release everything that in your mind will appease absolutely everyone or that the market will have the patience to still support a product after so many years.
