I was recently browsing around the Groupon site to see if there were any interesting deals and there was this one deal that seemed like for about $20 you can get a $100 voucher to buy food from this local farm where they will deliver everything to you. Sounded like a deal too good to pass up right? After reading the reviews and looking at the site it seemed like the food portions were extremely small. Almost like saying if $10 could get you a whole chicken at the supermarket you`d probably get a few drumsticks here.
All of a sudden that $100 for $20 value doesn`t sound so great anymore huh? I know this type of scenario happens a lot when people buy gift cards to give to someone else. You get the recipient this $100 card that is indeed very generous of you only for the person to find out when they buy something that everything is overpriced compared to other places.
It’s just so enticing initially huh? But like in these examples there is just no way to getting around the fact that you need to actually research the store and its prices before buying these large vouchers that seem too good to pass up.
