Asking For Money or Help To Reduce Cost

After attending one of my regular classes today it was suggested that it may be a good idea to donate some money for it as a way to further help the owner offset the cost of space rental. While everyone currently pays a monthly fee, the owner voluntarily offered another person to teach a class on a different date rent free and people can essentially get another day of class without further expense.

My immediate reaction was I asked if there were some kind of expenses they currently had where people could offer to help in that way. As an example, I know they have a website where they are most likely paying monthly fees to maintain and operate it. Therefore, I could easily do this for free as a way to help cut costs that way in a form of donation. That then got people to think.

I don’t think we do that enough as usually your social circle consists of people from all walks of life with different resources where everyone can help each other with their skills and knowledge to reduce expenses. In many ways I feel this can be a better form of donation as it doesn’t require one to drain their bank account and the actual money the other person saves can be substantially more. Almost like an old fashion skill trade that should be just as valuable as a monetary exchange.
