Actually Having To Pay To Do A Job

This was a little odd as I saw this offer from the theatre chain Cineplex where at first it sounded like they were offering people a mystery shopping job that is probably a moving buff’s dream. You essentially get paid to go into its theatres to watch movies and then you have to report back about your experience. However, that’s not exactly how it works. Upon further reading you apparently pay about $50 for an annual membership of sort that gives you 8 tickets and $40 in concession vouchers. So if anything it’s more like you are paying for coupons and you must do a job for them.

Would you ever to do this as a business where if you know there are fans of sort who are willing to pay for such a thing that you would also take advantage of the situation to try and get some labor out of it? It just seems so borderline misleading in many way but value wise it probably is still good for someone who goes to those places all the time.

It makes me wonder if this is one of those win-win situations for a business where you may as well do it if people are okay with it huh?
