When I walked past this store I noticed there was this shirt with a picture of Super Mario on it. While at first I thought it was just a fun shirt and all, the title of the shirt saying “Super Moschino” kind of confused me. I am not exactly a person that shops high end for this kind of stuff usually. So that got me curious to look this up online. Was I ever surprised. According to the company’s official website this shirt apparent retails for $225 US.
That made me think wouldn’t this shirt with a Super Mario character be targeting more of a technical and entertainment crowd? I don’t know many people within that category who would pay that much money for a shirt as they would probably be comparing it to like the price of a monitor or smartphone. Likewise, it would be like putting Disney characters on this shirt where I would assume it would normally attract kids. Are there actually that many parents who would buy their child a $225 US shirt too?
It probably hurts financially to be a fan of certain shows and characters huh? Then again, I guess that’s why companies pay the big dollars for licensing.
