Well, there was a lot of news here in Canada about trade talks with the US that sounds like it is wrapping up to be a no deal talk which is getting people wondering whether the leadership here is actually doing what they said they would. But the big thought on a lot of people’s mind is whether or not this will change anything for them in their personal life. A few months ago there was a lot of talk about buying Canadian where that seemed to have fizzled down. But I would imagine it will go up again with this announcement.
For myself I didn’t see too much of a change personally as I still found deals in places you would expect them and I already earned an income everywhere to the point where two countries having a dispute doesn’t automatically cause chaos for me as there are still other places that are running as usual. But what I did notice was how so many grocery stores here actually sell products that aren’t even made in Canada even though they keep advertising themselves as a shop Canada friendly business. Makes you wonder if any business can survive with 100% locally made products only. I’m talking about things such as computers as well.
Adapt or die as they say too huh?
