A few months ago there was this Harry Potter Forbidden Forest experience in Stanley Park that was generating a lot of controversy not so much because of the event itself but rather groups of people disliked JK Rowlig, the author of the Harry Potter series, and so I guess hosting this event was like telling people the city supports her views is how many people argued it. There were things such as park board members making statements on how it was a mistake to approve the venue and that it won’t happen again.
You would think for most even organizers they would take that as a sign that business will be rough as people will be boycotting it. But as it turned out, it was a huge success. So much so that they have recently announced that they are extending the event until February of this year. That shocked a lot of people of course and it raises the question on whether or not you should at times ignore say the critics that have some kind of prejudice against your offerings as there are often a lot of supporters that remain quiet.
I think the biggest embarrassment will be for the Vancouver Park Board considering its comments about the event.
