Today I received an urgent message from a person that needed a last-minute request which required me normally to be in front of a computer to edit a video. To make it worst, I had about four hours to complete and upload the material. The only solution I had was to edit the video on my phone and so I had to download an app for it. Fortunately, I remembered that my subscription to Adobe had this mobile video editor called Adobe Rush and so I proceeded to download and use that.
While it’s obviously a stripped down version of the desktop application, what was great was how I was already familiar with their main program which made using this easy. The main item afterwards was figuring out how to export the file. With that, I was able to film and edit everything. What it makes me think business wise is how sometimes it can help to stay within I specific company’s product lineup as in emergencies like these the workflow can be so similar that you won’t need to re-learn much to get a job done.
I usually don’t like exclusively using one company’s products if there are better choices in different categories. But I guess in this example it can be an advantage assuming the company you do business with has a solution for what you need. At least I know what I can use in the future if presented with a similar ordeal.
